Ben Swanholm is the president of Cactus Forensics LLC. He has over 15 years of forensic laboratory experience where he has worked closely with law enforcement providing crucial forensic support in criminal investigations that has played a pivotal role in resolving those investigations.

Mr. Swanholm has extensive experience teaching leadership principles and management techniques in the forensic science community. His passion for teaching leadership in the  forensic science community comes from a belief that it is a crucial aspect of preparing the next generation of professionals for success in this field. By instilling strong leadership qualities in aspiring forensic scientists, we empower them to navigate the complex challenges that come with leading teams in a forensic laboratory.

 

Effective leadership in forensic science entails guiding teams in crime scene investigations, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary experts, and making critical decisions based on sound judgment and ethical principles. Teaching leadership skills in forensic science education involves emphasizing the importance of clear communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. By nurturing these skills, he works to equip individuals with the tools they need to make a positive impact on themselves and their organizations.

 

Mr. Swanholm is a Certified Public Manager, and instructor for the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors’ Leadership Academy Level I, and co-cofounder, President and Treasure of the National Forensic Science Academy which has established the Certified Forensic Manager Program. Mr. Swanholm holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science and Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration with an emphasis in Forensic Science Administration.
