Dr. Ray Wickenheiser is an accomplished leader in the forensic science community, with over 40 years of varied professional experience ranging from the crime scene through the forensic laboratory to court, providing instruction and support for investigators, scientists, and industry leaders.  Extensive formal training in science, business administration, bioethics, and policy underpins Dr. Wickenheiser’s vast practical experience.  A host of varied publications including an array of business cases further bolsters his voice as a scientist manager and innovator in providing programs generating objective value to further investigations and justice.

 

Dr. Wickenheiser’s organizational leadership experience spans beyond his position as New York State Police Crime Laboratory System Director to include President of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) and the Chair of the Forensic Science Standards Board (FFSB) for the Organization of Area Committees (OSAC) for Forensic Science.  Through the highest level of forensic leadership, he has attained success in his organizations through inclusion, building collaborative relationships and strategic partnerships, cultivating ideas and research projects, and implementing successful technological innovations.  Dr. Wickenheiser’s partnerships include numerous academic institutions and mentoring students and staff, developing both technology and individual talent, and facilitating their career pathways toward success.

 

Dr. Wickenheiser is an instructor in workshops at national and international meetings on a range of topics, including conflict resolution, leadership, policy, procedures, scientific, and standards-related topics. Dr. Wickenheiser holds a Bachelor of Science Honors degree, a Master’s of Business degree, a Doctorate in Bioethics and Healthcare Policy, and a certificate in Genealogical Research.

 

Dr. Wickenheiser is a proven innovator and leader at the local, state, and national levels, leading change from within and by example through the achievement of his organizations.  He is a strong collaborator who thrives in challenging settings, creating value through the development and implementation of creative solutions.  His strength is in the development of individuals and their talents which has driven their joint collaborative success.
